Health, Safety & Environmental Policy

GECO Mechanical & Electrical Ltd. (GECO M & E) will provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for its employees & public and ensure continuous efforts to identify and eliminate or manage Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) risk and impact associated with its MEP/EPC (Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Maintenance, Fire Protection Services & Facilities Management) activities in any of the Emirates in the U.A.E.

To achieve this, our activities, products & services will be organized and managed through an HSE system and the requirements of all Local and applicable relevant Legislations. It will also ensure that all the staff is aware of the implications of the HSE policy and the HSE Management System.

All Company employees will, behave in an environmentally-responsible manner at all times; refrain from polluting the environment; aim for continual improvement of Occupational Health & Safety at all times and circumstances.

Employees

  • All personnel engaged by the “GECO M & E” shall take such steps as are reasonable to ensure that they understand the HSE Policy.
  • All employees are required to adopt & implement HSE requirements through their efforts to achieve continuous improvements in GECO M & E’s HSE practices & performance.
  • All personnel are encouraged to consult with management concerning HSE issues.

Responsibility

The application of this policy is the direct responsibility of the Project Management Team, Line Management, all employees & any Sub-contractors involved.

 

The Top Management of “GECO M & E Ltd.” fully supports this Policy and encourages all Employees to take pro-active approach with respect to HSE issues in executing their duties.

 

In particular, the Company will:

  • Set clear objectives and responsibilities for Health, Safety & Environment performance across all levels of the Company.
  • Ensure that valuable resources like electricity and water are used responsibly and conserved by all our employees.
  • Instill & promote safety consciousness amongst employees & sub-contractors to prevent incidents.
  • Educate, train and motivate employees to carry out their activities in a responsible manner in accordance with the requirements of the HSE Management system.
  • Regularly review & update the HSE procedures.
  • Continue to operate in a pro-active stance towards Health, Safety & Environment.
  • Reporting, Classification, Analysis and Investigation of all incidents to prevent re-occurrences.
  • Reduce the generation of waste arising from the maintenance and support and encourage effective recycling strategies for all streams including that generated by sub contractor and support services.
  • Monitor and review the Company’s activities against the requirements of this policy.
  • Ensure that this policy is available to all employees and other interested parties, including the public.
